From Europe to Africa, from Africa to the Nations

History
Jakob-Israel Church is constituted of seven churches in four countries: Germany, Ireland, Congo-Kinshasa, and Congo-Brazzaville. The first church was founded in 2002 in Kinshasa; the first church in Germany was founded in 2007. In Kinshasa, Jakob-Israel Church belongs to the Church of Christ in Congo (ECC), which is one of the largest church alliances in the world. This is also where the founder of Jakob-Israel Church, Michel Mbeko Mokobe, was ordained as Apostle in 2002. We are of protestant confession, according to the lutheran-reformatory theology.

Confession
We teach the triune God, which is constituted by the three modes of His person: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—three equally powerful and eternal individuals who form one sole divine being. They are eternal, inextricable, omnipotent, infinitely wise and good, Creator and Sustainer of all that is seen and unseen.
To obtain this faith, God established the ministry of the Word, and gave us the gospel, the sacraments, and the Holy Spirit, who—according to His own providence—brings forth faith in those who hear the gospel preached. This Gospel reveals to us a God of grace, who has accepted us not based on our works, but based the finished work of Christ at the cross. This faith must yield fruit and good works which are done out of love for God. It is God Himself who has prepared these good works for us.
The unity of the Christian Church in all its diversity is based on the accordance of the teaching of the gospel and sacraments in line with God’s Word. “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4:4-6). We baptize and we celebrate the Holy Communion.
