Interview
What bible verse best describes your lifestyle?
Seek first the kingdom of God, everything else will be given to you.
What is your greatest desire?
Seeing God’s kingdom on earth in all of its power. This means seeing people converted and transformed, healed and delivered by God’s word, setting off to a new life of peace, joy, and righteousness with Jesus as Lord.
What is the vision of your personal calling?
My personal calling is to preach the gospel. As Jesus said: The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me. He has sent me to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Lk 4:18-19
The year of jubilee meant that debts were released, slaves were freed, and people received back the land of their inheritance. In Jesus this is fulfilled in the lives of all who open their heart to accept Him as Savior and Lord.
What experiences in your life initiated your faith?
During high school I was very keen on philosophy. In the U.S. I had a Christian friend with whom I spend many afternoons pondering on philosophical matters. One day I proudly presented the result of our reflections to her father, asking about his thoughts. He replied “This will lead you to the utmost recess of confusion.” When he saw me holding my favorite, overly-marked philosophy book in my hands, he said “This is your bible. Why don’t you just take the real bible?” I was speechless.
Around this time I realized that all I had were questions, arguments, and theories, but no answers and no truth. I was interested in the Christian faith, but could not understand it with my head. It clicked a few years later when I came to a church were the word of God was brought to life and preached in revelation. This is where I stayed.
How do you personally connect to Jacob-Israel?
God has wrenched my hip and saved my soul. He crossed my dreams of becoming a cellist. Contrary to all my plans and expectations, I am now pursuing my Ph.D in Management.
As a leader, do you have a role model from the bible?
On the one hand Debora, who was prophetess and judge at the same time, accommodating two big tasks. On the other hand Jesus, who furthered His disciples in love, praying that they would do greater works.
